Preparing Your iPhone and iPad Apps for visionOS

November 3, 2023 @ 6:00p
Global XR Conference
Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Vision Pro is coming and if your iPhone and iPad apps are currently in the App Store, they’ll be available to install from day one! Most apps should “just work” but in this session we’ll drill down into the code to see what changes you can make to have your app look and perform its best in this new environment. While we obviously can’t try the device out yet, we’ll run on a simulator and see how our changes affect our app. Examples will be given in SwiftUI but you’ll be able to follow along if you’re familiar with any of the various mobile frameworks.

During the Global XR Conference 2023 I also moderated these three sessions:
How to visualize your AR idea by rapid prototyping
Immersive training: Decision making in Domestic Violence situations
Touch the Intangible – Can you feel the digital world?

Google’s Flutter has reached a stable ‘version 1’ release and can be used for iOS, Android, even web or desktop apps. But what is this odd framework and why would you choose it over React Native or Xamarin? We’ll explore what Flutter offers and how it differs from other mobile frameworks. We’ll dig into a bit of code and see how easy it is to get started with a mobile app and even animations.

This event was help virtually as Microsoft’s offices were closed due to Corona. It was recorded and is available on the Atlanta DotNet YouTube channel here:
